Lucky in Leather

shirt: prabal gurung for target | necklace: bebe (similar on sale) | leather leggings: purchased in japan (similar) | lace booties: kardashian for bebe (similar) | bracelet: tiffany & co

With all of the crazy colorful patterns in the Prabal Gurung for Target collection (see my other post here) I opted to invest in a few solid staple pieces with a little twist. The lace overlay on this button up is a new and different take on a classic cut and the faux leather collar adds just enough edge to keep it current while remaining appropriate for dressier, more corporate settings. Liquid leggings are pretty much mandatory for trying to remain stylish while chasing around a toddler (they're super comfy but still more appealing than cotton leggings)! I was working as a stylist for bebe in 2010 when the Kardashian clan collaborated to create these incredible lace booties and they're still fun to pull out of my closet every now and then.

p.s. I'm having a hair crisis. I'm so tired of the color and (lack of) style! I've been toying with the idea of going blonde or trying out some ombre for quite a while but I'm trigger shy when it comes to any kind of change for my mane. What do you think I should do? Keep in mind I'm totally attached to length and have a total meltdown every time I make the mistake of going any shorter than shoulder length.

  1. love this look, very chic. get a few highlights for spring! Coming from a brunette that went blonde for a few months, don't do it! It damaged my hair so badly and it was so hard (and pricey) to keep up with!

  2. All black is so chic! I love the mix of textures and your pants are amazing! I also really love the color of your hair but totally know how you feel about wanting to change it up. What about some caramel highlights? I bet they'd look fab!

  6. I love this outfit!!! What other pieces from the Prabal Gurang Collection did you buy? And as for you hair, don't change it too much, us brunettes have to stick together!!! Maybe a do some low lights for some dimension. Brown hair needs it. =)

    1. Thanks Monica! I grabbed the black dress with a patterned panel, the black dress shirt & the white shirt with the lace shoulder detail. Thanks for the suggestion, I don't know if I could ever muster up enough courage to make a big change. :)
